Actress Geetika Tyagi who had accused director Subhash Kapoor for sexual misconduct in 2018 reacted on Aamir Khan's decision to rehire him for 'Mogul'. "This feels strange," Geetika said in an interview with a tabloid. For those unaware, Khan took a major u-turn and revealed that he had 'sleepless nights' thinking Subhash Kapoor had no right to work because of his actions. Commenting on the same, Tanushree Dutta too slammed the actor.

"I had commended Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan [last year] because it gave hope to more women to speak up about their own stories. But I had never asked for it from them. Now that Subhash has been hired back, it's not like someone [from their end] reached out to me. It would have been a fair game had they considered both sides of the story," Geetika was quoted by Mid-Day. Geetika Tyagi further added: "Aamir re-hiring him doesn't affect my case, which is subjudice. I did everything by the book — went to the cops, filed charges, went to the lawyers. I believe in my fight, the system and I have my evidence."

"I have never said that Subhash shouldn't get work. But after I complained, I did not get work for a long time. The industry is patriarchal. Only women face the repercussions of complaining against sexual harassment, whether in the workplace or otherwise. They are ostracised when they complain. It's a sensitive decision on Aamir's part that Subhash shouldn't be treated badly until proven guilty. But what about my livelihood that has stopped since 2014? Criminal cases take time [to be served justice]and that's a reality."

AAMIR KHAN's STATEMENT

"What we found is that, without exception, all of them spoke very highly of him. Not only did they not feel any discomfort with him, but rather they went out of their way to praise him. They said that he looked after everyone on his set with great care. Caring, sensitive and supportive were the words used to describe him. Mind you, both Kiran and I are fully aware that these particular women may have had a very good experience working with Mr Kapoor, but that does not mean that he could not have misbehaved with some other woman. However, I cannot deny that this interaction with women who had worked with him, did give us comfort. And so, taking everything into account, I wrote back to IFTDA (Indian Film and Television Directors' Association) saying I have reconsidered my decision, and that I would come back on to the film," said Aamir in an interview.

"I'm just doing what my heart says is right, and what my conscience tells me is right. At that time, I felt that was the right step to take, so I took that. Today I feel differently. I'm going with my heart. Perhaps some people will be critical of my decision. But I have to live with my own conscience. So, I've done what my heart and conscience feels is right," Aamir was quoted by a daily in an interview announcing his collaboration (again) with Subhash Kapoor almost after a year.
