Vishal Thakkar, known for his roles in movies like ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, has been missing for more than three years, with the police being unsuccessful in tracing him till now.

In a recent report on a news portal, Vishal’s mother Durga has opened up on his mysterious disappearance by revealing that the last time she saw him was on December 31, 2015.

The actor had asked her to accompany him to watch ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ at a theatre. She regrets not going as she has not seen his face since then. Vishal had asked for Rs 500 and left their Mulund flat.

He later texted his father Mahendra that he’d be going for a party, and that he’ll see him the next day. That’s the last time his parents saw or spoke to him.

His mother revealed that she is clueless about the whereabouts of the actor, as her registration of a missing case has not made any headway.

The last time he was seen was on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, near Mumbai on January 1, 2016 at 11.45 am by his then girlfriend. His last Facebook post wishing ‘Happy New Year’ came 25 minutes later, at 12.10 pm. Since then neither has his mobile phone been turned on nor has there been a transaction in his bank account.

Former investigating office Mahendra Puri, who registered the complaint at the Mulund Police Station, stated that they initially suspected his girlfriend. But she was given a clean chit after there were no discrepancies in her statements.

Inspector N A Kulkarni, who took over the case after it was transferred to Kasarvadavli police on the basis of his last traced location, Ghodbunder Road, stated that they are unaware if it is a ‘murder, or a kidnapping, or he has run away.”

Vishal’s family suspects that a case of rape and assault lodged against the actor by his then girlfriend could be a reason for his disappearance. His mother stated that the family knew her, but she arrived at their house once with the police.

The actor’s mother called it a ‘minor fight’ after which they patched up, and the girlfriend withdrew the complaint against Vishal. However, eight months ago, she died due to an alleged heart attack.

His mother states that he was a ‘mumma’s boy’ and that he couldn’t handle the humiliation with the case.

Recently, the case came to constable Rajesh Pandey, popular for tracing 800 persons in Mumbai. However, there have been no updates on Vishal despite sharing his photograph being shared on an all-India network of railway officers, hospitals and police officers working to find out missing persons.
