Tanushree Dutta made headlines recently after she accused Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of the film ‘Horn Ok Please’. While talking to Republic TV on Wednesday, the actress said, “In 2008 I was shooting for this movie called ‘Horn Ok Please’ and I was harassed on set by Nana Patekar, by Ganesh Acharya, by the producer and director of the movie.” She further went on to add, “I had filed a police complaint but before we could lodge an FIR, a counter FIR was lodged by them which caused my family immense harassment.”
As per reports, Nana Patekar has now denied the accusations and said that there were about 50 to 100 people on the sets of the film. He went on to add that he will see what can be done legally. Furthermore, Tanushree also told Republic TV, “Not only was I harassed, but the Manse party attacked me, there was a mob lynching kind of a situation that I had to face.”
She added, “It was a horrific incident that changed the way I was looking at this industry.” However, Ganesh Acharya reportedly dismissed these accusations and said that no such thing happened. Tanushree Dutta also told Republic TV that she was immensely disturbed after the incident and said, "Was in a disturbed mental state to go back on a movie set."
While talking to Republic TV, Tanushree Dutta said that she was advised against going ahead with a court case and that she was “intimidated” by the culprits. Further lashing out at Nana Patekar, the actress said, “That man is lying through his nose. The truth has remained consistent for 10 years.”
She added, “How long can you escape. Nobody gets away. Justice can be delayed but it is not going to be denied.”
Talking about the industry’s mindset when it comes to such matters, the actress said that it is a systemic problem.
She said, “The way the film industry has functioned, there is no concept of harassment because we are living in such a patriarchal society where women get gang raped and they get slut shamed.” She went on to clarify that the entire industry is not bad, “I am not saying the entire industry is bad but there are rotten tomatoes. Was unfortunate to work with such people.”
