Bollywood actor Nana Patekar who has been accused of sexual harassment by former actress Tanushree Dutta, recently stepped down from the upcoming Bollywood film 'Housefull 4'. The actor however, had shot for some of his scenes during the recent Jaisalmer schedule of the film. He went to shoot for the film, soon after he was accused by the 'Chocolate' actress.
Now, as per reports, it is said that the makers of 'Housefull 4' feel that Nana’s role is important to the plot and they may retain some portions of the film which he has already shot for in Jaisalmer. However, it is still not clear if the actor will wrap up shooting for the pending scenes. The shooting of the movie was stopped midway after Nana opted out of it in the wake of the controversy.
Nana Patekar's presence at a shoot was highly debated as it was happening in the midst of the accusations made on him. Tanushree Dutta had claimed that the actor had misbehaved with her while they were shooting for a special song for the 2008 film 'Horn OK Pleassss'. She claimed that she was forced into doing intimidate steps with Nana by the choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The actress recently filed a complaint against the actor, choreographer and the director and producer of the film.
With Tanushree Dutta opening up about her traumatic experience, many women too gathered the courage to speak up against their sexual perpetrators. This gave rise to the #MeToo movement in India, which exposed several prominent names in the industry. Among them is Sajid Khan, who has been accused of sexual harassment by three women.
The director however, denied all claims and even stepped down as the director of 'Housefull 4' and said that he will clear his name in the court.Nana Patekar, too, backed out of the film after Khan. Sajid Khan has been replaced by 'Housefull 3' director Farhad Samji.
