Navtej Hundal, who played the role of the Home Minister in this year’s blockbuster ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, has passed away. The actor breathed his last in Mumbai on Monday evening, as per reports.

The association for film artistes, Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) expressed its grief on Hundal’s death and conveyed condolences on Twitter. They also shared details of the last rites which were held at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai on Tuesday.
CINTAA’s official Twitter handle tweeted, “#CINTAA expresses it’s deepest condolence on the demise of Shri Navtej Hundal. May his soul Rest in Peace The cremation is at Oshiwara Crematorium, Relief Rd, Prakash Nagar, Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Jogeshwari (W) at 11 am.” (sic)
Navtej last featured in Vicky Kaushal-starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, which entered the top-10 of the highest-grossing films of all time earlier this year, with domestic collections close to Rs 250 crore. Previously, he’s worked in movies like Subhash Ghai’s ‘Khalnayak’ and ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ (movie featuring original ‘Aankh Maare’ song). He also used to conduct acting classes.
No details of the cause of death are known yet. According to reports, Hundal is survived by his wife and two daughters. One of them, Avantika Hundal is an actor in the popular TV show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.’
