Bollywood's favourite father-son duo Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan will lend their voices for the Hind version of Disney's 'The Lion King'.

While Shah Rukh will lend his voice to the king of the Jungle, Lion Mufasa, Aryan will dub for Mufasa's son Simba, King Khan tweeted on Monday. He wrote: "Glad to be a part of this journey... a timeless film. Voicing it in Hindi with my own Simba. The last time we did a film was around 15 years ago and it was ‘Incredible’ and this time around its even more fun. Hope everyone enjoys it 19th July onwards. #TheLionKing" [sic]

But Netizens immediately started trolling the mega star and reacted sharply over the nepotism angle. One user wrote: "When even Disney knows that Bharat mein #TheLionKing jaisi strong script bechne ke iye bhi nepotism ka sahara lena padega. Yes, we deserve it. Also, no problem that Aryan wants 2 do films, but handing him TLK on a platter to debut is what nepotism is all about." [sic]

On the occasion of Father's Day coinciding with the India-Pakistan World Cup match, the 'Zero' actor had shared a picture of himself and Aryan donning Indian cricket jerseys. While the actor's t-shirt read 'Mufasa', Aryan's had 'Simba' printed on it.

King Khan further also said in a statement, “The Lion King is that one movie that my entire family loves the most and it holds a very special place in our hearts. As a father, I can totally relate with Mufasa and the endearing relationship he shares with his son – Simba. The legacy of Lion King is timeless and being a part of this iconic re-imagining with my son Aryan makes it extra special for me. We are most excited that AbRam is going to watch this.”

With the screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson and songs by legends like Elton John and Time Rice, the movie is helmed by Jon Favreau.

The film will hit the theatres on July 19 and will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
