Netizens Unimpressed At $75 Million VFX Wonder Of '2.0'

After the release of the much anticipated '2.0' teaser, fans expressed their disappointment at the VFX of the film. The makers had spent $75 million on the VFX of the film

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers of one of the most anticipated films of 2018,'2.0', unveiled the teaser of the film. The one-and-a-half minute teaser showed glimpses of Rajinikanth as Doctor Vasikaran and Robot Chitti, who was dismantled in the first part due to its evil nature. The teaser also shows a one-second glimpse of Akshay Kumar who plays a character with shades of grey. But most of all the teaser focused on the VFX used in the film. A whole lot of VFX is shown in the 90-second teaser. From mobile phones flying in the air to humans being air dropped to a fictional looking evil bird flying around in the city. 

The VFX of the film was much talked about, as the makers spent a whopping $75 million (Rs 545 crores) on the VFX alone. The film had roped in 3000 technicians from across the globe and the total budget of the film is reported at around four billion.

However, netizens seemed unimpressed by the VFX. Post the teaser release, the fans took to Twitter and expressed their disappointment with the VFX. Here's what people had to say :

Apart from Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, the film also stars Amy Jackson. The bilingual film will be releasing in Tamil and Hindi and will later be dubbed in 13 other languages. Earlier, a video from the sets had gone viral with actress Amy Jackson in focus. The video that went viral had actress Amy Jackson, choreographer Bosco and the 3D stereographer, Ray Hannisian. The film is the first Indian film to make use of 3D cameras and some intense VFX. The first instalment of the film, 'Enthiran' (2010) in Tamil featured Rajinikanth and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film directed by Shankar will release on November 29 in both 3D and 2D.
