After reports surfaced and wishes started pouring in early on Thursday, Ekta Kapoor shared the news of becoming a mother through surrogacy. The TV Czarina has named her bundle of joy ‘Ravie Kapoor’ and called his arrival into her life an ‘emotional moment’ for her and her family.

In a common post she shared across her social media platforms, the film-TV producer wrote that she has seen successes across her life, but ‘nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul’ being added into her world and that she couldn’t express her delight at the baby’s birth.

Ekta added that things don’t always go as planned, but there are always ‘solutions to those hiccups.’ She exulted about feeling ‘immensely blessed’ to become a parent and further stated it is an ‘emotional moment’ for her and her family. She conveyed her excitement of beginning her journey of being a mother to the ‘little bundle of joy’, ‘Ravie Kapoor.’

In another post, her doctor, Nandita Palshetkar, revealed that Ekta had approached her to become a mother some years back. However, she couldn’t get pregnant despite trying ‘multiple cycles of Intrauterine insemination (IUI) and ‘In Vitro Fertilization.’ That’s the reason they decided to use the technique of surrogacy, which was performed at Bloom IVF, after which Ravie was born on Sunday.

Ekta’s brother Tusshar Kapoor had become the first single father in Bollywood in June 2016 after welcoming a baby boy Laksshya via IVF.  The siblings' friend since childhood, Karan Johar followed suit by becoming a parent to twins, Yash and Roohi, in February 2017.

Incidentally, there’s something common about the names Ekta and KJo have given to their children. Karan had named his son Yash on his father, late producer Yash Johar while he rearranged his mother’s name Hiroo for his daughter Roohi.

Ekta has done so too by naming her son after her father, yesteryear superstar Jeetendra. For the unversed, Jeetendra’s real name is Ravi Kapoor. The pronunciation might differ, but the grandfather-grandson will share the same four letters.
