Actor Siddharth, best known for his performance in 'Rang De Basanti' alongside Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor and others, is quite vocal about his political opinions. The actor recently took a sly dig on his industry mate Akshay Kumar for conducting an interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

In a recent Twitter post, Siddharth tagged US President Donald Trump and asked him for an interview since he is up for re-election. Mocking Akshay Kumar for his 'non-political' interview with the Prime Minister, Siddharth sarcastically said that he will be asking questions on his eating, sleeping and work habits. He further emphasized on Akshay Kumar's Canadian citizenship controversy by mentioned that he has an Indian passport.

"Hey @realDonaldTrump since you're getting ready to be re-elected soon, might I suggest an interview with me during your elections? I have crucial questions about how you eat fruit, your sleep and work habits and also your cute personality. I have an Indian passport. DM me, please." Siddharth wrote in the post.

This is not the first time Siddharth has ridiculed Akshay Kumar. Previously, in a Twitter post, he had called the 'Kesari' star 'an underrated villain'.

Akshay Kumar had recently engaged in a high-profile interview of the Prime Minister at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg which was broadcast across several media platforms. However, ahead of the interview, he had put out a disclaimer about the same in a post saying that the candid conversation has nothing to do with politics. Sharing a picture with PM Modi on social media, he wrote, "While the whole country is talking elections and politics, here’s a breather. Privileged to have done this candid and COMPLETELY NON POLITICAL freewheeling conversation with our PM @narendramodi. Watch it at 9 AM tomorrow via ANI for some lesser known facts about him!"

Here's the post:

Moreover, on Friday, Akshay had issued a statement expressing his disappointment over the 'needless controversy' surrounding his citizenship, nationality and his Canadian passport. The actor said that although he has a Canadian passport, he hasn’t been to the country in 7 years and has been an upstanding resident of India, by playing his taxes and indulging in social causes.
