#MeToo| Action Director And Vicky Kaushal's Father Sham Kaushal Accused Of Sexual Misconduct

With various sexual harassment allegations on eminent personalities from the Bollywood fraternity such as Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl and Nana Patekar, one can say that the #MeToo movement has reached the Hindi film industry. In the wake of the movement that had earlier taken Hollywood by storm, former actress Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Tanushree's fight for justice has now taken a legal turn. Meanwhile, Dutta's brave step has now pushed several victims to share their stories. 

With the #MeToo movement gaining momentum, various Bollywood celebrities have been named with new ones keep emerging every other day. The latest one to be added to the long list of accused is Sham Kaushal, Bollywood action director and the father of actor Vicky Kaushal. Taking to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, a woman named Nameeta Prakash has accused Sham Kaushal of sexual misconduct during the outdoor shoot of a film. Reportedly, Nameeta has worked as an assistant director in films such as ' Manorama Six Feet Under', ' Ab Tak Chhappan' and 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd'. Prakash alleged that during an outdoor shoot in 2006, the action director had asked her to join her for a drink in his room. In her elaborate post, she opened up about how she had refused the offer, but he kept insisting and then showed her a porn clip on his phone.

Several other renowned personalities including Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath, Subhash Ghai, and Karim Morani among others, have been accused of alleged sexual harassment. These revelations have created a huge stir in the Hindi film industry and many Bollywood stars have spoken up against the offenders and extended their support to the assault survivors. 

Apart from Bollywood A-listers, renowned writer Chetan Bhagat has been accused of sexual misconduct by an anonymous victim after she shared screenshots of her chat with the author.

Further, television actor Alok Nath has been accused of rape by popular 90's show 'Tara' producer Vinta Nanda. In a detailed post on Facebook, she also mentioned that Alok Nath was an alcoholic, and accused him of allegedly being inappropriate with the lead actress of the show, Navneet Nishan.
