#MeToo : Actor Riteish Deshmukh Seconds Akshay Kumar's Stand On ''Housefull 4'

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, several popular names have come in the forefront, who have been accused of sexual harassment. Famous celebrities including Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Subhash Ghai, Varun Grover, Luv Ranjan and now Sajid Khan are some of the few names that have been shamed for sexual harassment. A journalist on Thursday accused the 'Housefull' director of misbehaving with her during an interview.

Post the allegations, the multi-starrer cast of the upcoming film 'Housefull 4', which was being directed by Sajid Khan, have taken a stand on the matter. After Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon commenting in favour of the purpose of the campaign, Riteish Deshmukh has also followed suit.

He wrote, "Deeply disturbing to hear and read the news of so many women who had to go through these incidents of harassment in various fields. I think its extremely brave of every woman to have shared their stories.. all need to be heard and not judged. I stand with them today. #MeToo 
w.r.t Housefull 4 I second Akshay Kumar's stand."

Actor Akshay Kumar who has been playing the lead actor of the 'Housefull' series since its inception, took to Twitter on morning of October 12 to announce that he has requested the producers of 'Housefull 4' to cancel the shoot in the wake of the allegation made against the director of the film. He wrote, "I've just landed back in the country last night and reading all the news has been very disturbing. I've requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shoot until further investigation. This is something that requires stringent action. I will not work with any proven offenders and all those who have been subjugated to harassment should be heard and given the justice they deserve."

Reacting to the allegations, Sajid Khan's sister director-choreographer Farah Khan said, "This is a heartbreaking time for my family.We have to work through some very difficult issues. If my brother has behaved in this manner he has a lot to atone for.I don’t in any way endorse this behavior and Stand in solidarity with any woman who has been hurt."
