#MeToo: Actress Dia Mirza Supports Woman Who Accused Sajid Khan Of Sexual Harassment

Director Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by a journalist and two actors. Actress Dia Mirza tweeted out in support of the accuser

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, several popular names have come in the forefront, who have been accused of sexual harassment. Famous celebrities including Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Subhash Ghai, Varun Grover, Luv Ranjan and now Sajid Khan are some of the few names that have been shamed for sexual harassment. A journalist on Thursday accused the 'Housefull' director of misbehaving with her during an interview. This was followed by two actors- Saloni Chopra and Rachel White accusing the filmmaker of sexual harassment. 

Responding to the allegations against Sajid Khan, made by a journalist, Dia Mirza wrote,"I am so sorry you had to go through this @karishmau. With you in support. #MeToo."

After the journalist made allegations of sexual harassment on Khan, two other actress - Saloni Chopra and Rachel White - also narrated their experience, where they were harassed by the 'Humshakal' director.

Reacting to the allegations made on him, Sajid Khan released a statement, which read, "In the wake of the allegations against me & the pressure being put on my family, my producer n the stars of my film Houseful 4, i must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time i can allay the allegations and prove the truth.. I request my friends in the media to kindly not pass judgement till the truth is out”. 

The lead cast of 'Housefull 4', Akshay Kumar released a statement saying that he has requested the producers of the film to cancel the shoot, until a conclusive decision is not reached and that he does not wish to work with proven offenders.
