#MeToo | Amidst Sexual Harassment Allegations, Sushant Singh Rajput's Twitter Handle Gets Verified Again

The #MeToo movement has taken over the Indian film industry of late and celebrities from all walks of life are coming in the forefront to share their stories. While some are taking to their social media handles, others are pouring their hearts out during interviews, nonetheless, this movement is gaining huge momentum.

Recently, Sushant Singh Rajput was accused of misconduct by his 'Kizie Aur Manny' co-star Sanjana Sanghi. While the actress has kept mum on the issue, rumours of this incident started doing rounds which led Sushant to clarify his stance on Twitter.  Sharing screenshots of their private conversation, the actor said, "I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what was, in the midst of this curated and well-timed smear campaign. From the first till the last day of the shoot, this is what happened on the Set with Sanjana." In a series of tweets, he denied the allegations posed against him. 

Further to that, speculations started doing rounds that Twitter has revoked his verification badge pertaining to the incident. The actor, in another tweet, said, "And for all those deliberately using the missing of Twitter ‘blue tick’ to substantiate their false claims, allow me to tell you that it is not there since 5th of September. Get your facts checked before jumping to conclusions that you so eagerly want to."

Few hours post this, Sushant's public profile on Twitter has been verified again. While the actor has denied the allegations, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was making his directorial debut with 'Kizie Aur Manny' came out in support of his friend saying, "All this speculation is a figment of wild imagination." He was later suspended by Star India from the film.
