#MeToo: Casting Director Vicky Sidana Bears Brunt Of Alleged Sexual Harassment, Suspended From Iulia Vantur's Film

Not just actors and filmmakers, even those working with them behind-the-scenes have been at the receiving end of the ongoing #MeToo movement in the country. One such celebrity has been one of the topmost casting directors of the industry, Vicky Sidana, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women. Apart from anonymous #MeToo stories against him, 'Little Things' actor Kritika Sharma has been waging a battle against Vicky for the past few days. She has filed a police complaint against the casting director, but claimed that she is finding it difficult to convince them to file a First Information Report (FIR) in the case.

As the actor waits for a legal turn to get justice in the case, the makers of upcoming film 'Radha Kyon Gori Main Kyon Kaala' have decided to swing into action. The casting of the film, tipped to be Salman Khan's close friend Iulia Vantur's debut, was being led by Vicky Sidana. The makers, Studio 5 Elements, have now decided to suspend his association with the film over alleged sexual misconduct.

In a statement, the production house revealed that they support the idea of setting up a 'safe, healthy and peaceful working environment for women', and stressed on the need for the proven offenders to be punished. They conveyed their support with the #MeToo movement and revealed plans to not associate with 'proven offenders.' They concluded their statement by saying their collaboration with Vicky 'stands in abeyance' until the completion of a 'thorough investigation.'

Earlier, Kritika had exclusively told us in an interview how there was 'political pressure' because of which the police were hesitant to file the FIR. She has now approached the state home ministry for help in her battle to get justice against Vicky Sidana. The actor had claimed the casting director had forced himself on her in 2013, apart from lewd gestures and comments when she was trying to be cast in a film through him.
