#MeToo | Days After Being Accused Of Sexual Harassment, Kwan Co-Founder Anirban Blah Rescued From Alleged Suicide Attempt

As Bollywood sees a new wave of #MeToo movement gaining momentum with each passing day, celebrities are coming out in the forefront to call out their harassers on social media.

Days after being accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, leading celebrity management firm Kwan's Co-Founder Anirban Blah reportedly made an attempt to commit suicide. In the recent state of affairs, Blah has reportedly been rescued by Vashi Traffic Police on the morning of October 19 after he attempted to jump off the Vashi bridge. He was seen leaving a cab from the bridge post which a traffic police took note of the incident and enquired about him roaming around in the vicinity at the point in time. He was then caught by Vashi police where he admitted that he was depressed since the allegations against him surfaced further wanting to end his life.

According to reports, Anirban resigned from the Board of Trustees after the business went down drastically. Kwan issued a statement saying, "We fully support the #MeToo movement and deprecate and condemn those who have exploited women in any form or manner. As a responsible corporate, we have taken assistance to ensure that we have efficient and appropriate processes to redress any complaint of misconduct in accordance with the law.”

After the news spread like wildfire, Deepika Padukone's foundation 'The Live Love Laugh Foundation' expelled Anirban Blah in lieu of the allegations of sexual harassment against him. While one woman said that the talent manager fixed a meeting at his residence where he asked her to strip, another aspiring actress recounted how Blah had insisted on holding a meeting in his hotel suite, saying "casting is done in bedrooms and not in public spaces". Police has not registered the incident as of now and has handed over Blah to his family. 

As Bollywood sees a new wave of #MeToo movement gaining momentum with each passing day, celebrities are coming out in the forefront to call out their harassers on social media. Many celebrities including the likes of Tanushree Dutta and Sandhya Mridul called out their accusers and shared their story with the world as a part of this movement.
