Inspired by the west, the #MeToo movement has gained traction in India with several women speaking up against and pointing out sexual perpetrators. It began when former Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment  on the sets of the 2008 film 'Horn Ok Pleasss'. The case became a huge deal with the help of social media as opposed to the time Dutta had made the allegations in the year 2008. Thereafter several Bollywood celebrities have taken a stand on the matter and condemned sexual harassment in workplace. Until now, several eminent personalities from the Indian film industry have also been accused of sexual harassment including Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Varun Grover, Karim Morani, Sajid Khan, Luv Ranjan and Vikas Bahl to name a few.

'Housefull 4' actress Kriti Sanon tweeted out in support of the #MeToo movement, "As a woman and as an actor i fully support the #MeToo movement and i’m so glad that women are speaking up! It’s high time that we as an industry introspect a bit and make this industry a safer place for everyone!"

Kriti Sanon was recently in Jaisalmer, shooting for 'Housefull 4', which was being directed by Sajid Khan. Along with Kriti Sanon, the entire cast including Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Riteish Deshmukh was also present there. Also present for the shoot was Nana Patekar , who was recently accused by Tanuhsree Dutta of sexual harassment .

On the other hand, Farah Khan, sister of Sajid Khan, who has been accused of harassment by an actress said that she would not stand by any such behaviour and will stand by all the women who have been hurt.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has cancelled the shoot of 'Housefull 4' until anything is proven and Sajid Khan has stepped down as the director of the film.
