Television actress Payal Rohtagi who had accused filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee of sexual misconduct in 2011, recently opened up about how she was denied work after she spoke up against the director's indecent behaviour.

According to reports, Payal claimed that post the harassment accusations she made against the director, Dibakar continued with his career and went on to make six films after that. She further added that he doesn't look like a villain, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he used his sob story of a bad marriage to get rid of it.

She reportedly claims that she didn't file an FIR against him because she was intimidated. In the wake of #MeToo, the actress hopes things will be different. She continued by saying that she hopes Yash Raj Films who is producing Dibakar's next directorial venture 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' will take a stand. But she asserted that the production house is aware of the director's behaviour.

Payal narrated her encounter with the 'Lust Stories' director and said that in 2011 Banerjee had asked to lift her skirt and show him her stomach during a meeting for a film's audition. She weighed on the repercussions she had to face after speaking out in public about the director's misconduct. She apparently revealed that post her accusation against Dibakar, she was never called for an audition and she stopped getting work offers. She had to eventually shift to Television and take part in reality shows to keep working.

The #MeToo movement is the domino effect of Tanushree Dutta's sexual misconduct allegations against veteran actor Nana Patekar on the sets of the 2008 film 'Horn OK Pleassss' while filming for a song sequence.
