The #MeToo campaign that has ignited in India has given woman the strength and courage to speak up against sexual perpetrators. In the wake of the campaign names of  several popular Bollywood artists including direcors, actors and producers have surfaced.

The latest accusations has been made on Bollywood director Luv Ranjan, who is known for films like 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' and 'Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety'. In an interview with Mid-day, an actress opened up about the sexual harassment she faced by the director. Narrating her ordeal she reportedly said in the year 2010, when she was 24, she had already done two small roles  in big movies opposite well-known actors, and was in the auditioning phase. She said that she  was called by Vicky Sidana, a casting director, who informed her that the auditions for 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' were on, and a very short list of girls had been called for them. The actress said that she trusted him and hence, went for it. The dress code was a short skirt and a tight top, which was fairly common, she said and was not a problem with her. Recalling the audition day, she said that there were seven to eight girls there, and the strange part was that they didn’t give them dialogues as the usually procedure involves enacting of scenes.

The actress was initially not  worried as the set up suggested that it was an authentic audition. She said that she was at Kumar Mangat’s office and Abhishek Pathak, his son, was the producer. However, she said that she is not sure whether or not he was present that day because she did not see him or interact with him. The director, Luv Ranjan, and the cinematographer were sitting in a room and calling the girls in one by one.Talking further about the day, she said that the girl who went in before her came out with an ashen look and seemed uncomfortable and left in a hurry. Once inside the audition room, which was properly lit with proper camera set-up, she said that she was asked to give an  introduction, which she said is totally normal and legitimate.

Things turned bad, when the director Luv Ranjan allegedly asked her to  strip to see if she had a suitable bikini body. Ranjan then told her that there was a kissing scene and a bikini scene in the movie and asked if she was fine with that, to which she said yes.  Allegedly, he said he wanted to see what she would look like in a bikini.

Later in life, when she gave another audition for a movie, she said that there was a female stylist who gave her a bikini to do a look test in the presence of lots of people. Luv allegedly asked her to strip down to her bra and panties. He allegedly said that he wanted to check if she needed to lose weight. He allegedly said they were not recording anything and the cinematographer would also leave the room. After that, it all gets blurry, said the actress. The accuser said that at that moment her heart was pounding and she rushed out saying she had to leave and was not comfortable with it. She went home and tried to forget about it.

The final straw that led to the actor leaving the audition was Luv Ranjan asking if she masturbates. He allegedly also asked her whether she used condoms. By then , the actress said that she was scared asked if she could leave. He allegedly said that se should not misunderstand him and whether she can trust him enough as a director, that if he asks to dop hi pants, would she?’

Speaking about the accusation, Luv Ranjan reportedly said that it is absurd and he does not know what to say other than denying it. He said that he does not know how to react to an anonymous allegation and he is willing to face any legitimate enquiry.
