#MeToo: Salman Khan's Father Salim Khan Backs The Movement And Says 'It Is Better Late Than Never'

India's Me Too movement has gained a lot of momentum and a lot of prominent names like Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, Karim Morani, and Sajid Khan among others have surfaced. They have been accused of alleged sexual harassment by female victims that have come forward and have shares their Me Too stories.

Several Bollywood celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Anurag Kashyap, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Malaika Arora, and Kangana Ranaut have backed the Me Too movement and have spoken in favour of the victims. Salman Khan's father Salim Khan is the latest addition to the list of celebrities that are supporting the movement. 

The veteran took to his Twitter and wrote,''The only defense they have is "Why so late ?” It is better late than never. You don’t have to wait for the result, you have already won great public support. Aadmi pahad se gir kar khadda ho sakta hai…apni nazron se girkar nahin.''

Speaking of the movement, a journalist last week accused 'Housefull' director Sajid Khan of misbehaving with her during an interview. This was followed by two actors- Saloni Chopra and Rachel White accusing the filmmaker of sexual harassment. 

Recently, speaking to a leading publication, Bollywood actress Dia Mirza revealed that she was aware of Sajid Khan's 'ridiculous and sexist' behaviour but she had no idea that he would stoop down to this level. Although his sister Farah Khan and cousin Farhan Akhtar denied being aware of his behaviour, Dia who has earlier worked with Sajid Khan stated that she was aware of his obnoxious behaviour. 

She further stated that she was deeply disturbed and that she definitely agrees to the fact that Sajid is extremely sexist and ridiculous. She said that these incidents showed how deep patriarchy ran in society and Bollywood and added that in the coming weeks many more names will tumble out. She revealed that she has never had to face such a situation and added that she has lost work in the past because she was not willing to comply with a lot of things.
