As the #MeToo movement gathered momentum in the country sparked by Tanushree Dutta's allegations of alleged misconduct against Nana Patekar, many others came forward to share incidents of abuse they had also experienced. One of them was Flora Saini, who recently starred in the blockbuster 'Stree'. The actress had accused film producer Gaurang Doshi, famous for films like 'Aankhen', and 'Deewar' of physically abusing her when they were in a relationship. On Facebook, she had shared pictures of herself with bruises on her face, 'fractured jaw and scarred soul for life' around Valentine's Day in 2007. She also revealed how he threatened he'd never let her work in the industry, following which she was replaced in films and was avoided by people, who even refused to take her audition.

Gaurang had responded on Facebook, calling her allegations 'false', 'brutal' and 'cheap' and said Flora had 'victimised' him and tried to gain publicity through him, calling himself 'God's blessed child'.Moreover, he had given an interview to a newspaper where he said that the court had acquitted him of all charges in the complaint filed against him by Flora.

Flora has now hit back at Gaurang's comments and slapped a defamation case on him and the newspaper which carried his interview. Sharing a snapshot of the legal notice she sent, Flora detailed the complaints that are pending against his name, proving that his claims of being acquitted are all false. In the notice, she also alleged that the newspaper published the interview without her consent since they were under obligation to take her statement before going ahead with it. In the notice, she claims she was defamed by the interview and that 'well-earned reputation' has been destroyed.
