The ongoing #MeToo movement in India has exposed a lot of noteworthy personalities in the entertainment and the media industry. In a shocking revelation made by an ex-employee of Phantom Films, 'Queen' director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment. Reacting to the allegations against Vikas, his partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane backed the victim and the latter called Vikas a 'sex offender'.
Now, in response to these allegations, Vikas Bahl has issued a Rs 10 crore defamation lawsuit against Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. The suit, filed on Tuesday, alleged that Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane made 'defamatory, slanderous and baseless allegations' against him due to which he has suffered irreversible damage to the reputation. The defamation suit demands damages of Rs 10 crore from the two. Vikas alleged that both Anurag and Vikram conveniently plotted against him and held him responsible for the downfall of the production house.
When the news of Vikas Bahl's accusations had surfaced. It had become a burning topic of discussion, and since his Phantom co-partner Anurag Kashyap had learned about the same back in 2015 itself. Guilty of not taking action back then, he along with the other two co-founders, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena took stringent action against Vikas and decided to dissolve the production house, as they thought it was "the right thing to do".
In a two-page statement on Twitter, Kashyap had mentioned that his legal aides told him that there was nothing he could do to fire Bahl from Phantom Films, which they set up seven years ago.

Several prominent personalities like Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, Sajid Khan, and Karim Morani among others have been accused.
A lot Bollywood celebrities including Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna, Simi Garewal, Lisa Ray, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan extended their support to the actresses who are raising their voice against the misconduct by their exploiters.
