Biopics have become Bollywood's fresh new trend. From the past few years, the film fraternity has given us back to back hits with 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', 'Mary Kom' and 'Dangal' to name a few. And now, reportedly, a few filmmakers have approached Olympic sprinter Dutee Chand to buy the rights of her biopic and seems like the sportswoman has already made her mind up as to who she wants to see portray her character on the silver screen. In an interview with a leading media publication, Chand said that several directors have approached her to buy the rights of her biopic, but she has not given the 'nod' yet.
Chand, recently came out in the open about her same-sex relationship with a younger relative. In a recent interview with ANI, the star athlete spoke about how her own sister is 'blackmailing' her for a sum of Rs 25 Lakhs, due to which she had to reveal her same-sex relationship.
However, the sprinter feels that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut can essay her role' perfectly' on the big screen and that she likes her as an actress. When Ranaut was asked to comment about the same in a media interaction, she said that she was quite 'humbled' by it.
Meanwhile, the actress who was last seen playing 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' will soon be seen essaying the role of Jayalalithaa in her bilingual biopic titled 'Thalaivi' in Tamil and 'Jaya' in Hindi. It is said to be helmed by AL Vijay of 'Abhinetri 2' and 'Thalaivaa' fame, while being bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri.
On the other hand, Ranaut is also gearing up for the release of 'Mental Hai Kya' opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film is slated to release on July 26.
