As the son of one of Bollywood's most acclaimed producers late Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar descendant of the influential Chopras, it's no surprise why "nepotism rocks" for Karan Johar. Little did the Wizcraft family (official organisers of IIFA) imagine what a disaster the recently held 2017 edition would lead to. But thanks to a nepotist bunch of over grown kids Saif Ali Khan (son of  Sharmila Tagore and Tiger Pataudi), Varun Dhawan (son of filmmaker David Dhawan) with KJo leading the over excited pack, ganged up on Kangana Ranaut. Even though dear Saifu had been Ranaut's co-star in 'Rangoon', he has proven that true chivalry is not always blue blooded.

Choosing an award ceremony to roast Kangana, who minced no words while addressing Karan as the "flag bearer of nepotism", on 'Koffee With Karan', the three men were anything, but wise. While Varun Dhawan prophesied the repercussions and promptly issued a Twitter apology, catty Karan hand picked a certain news channel for his propaganda.

In an interview to what seems to be his favourite news channel, Karan has admitted his folly saying that he was the mastermind behind the joke. He also took the blame, admitting that they went 'a bit too far with the Kangana mention'. B-Town stands divided between star kids and the self-made actors when it comes to nepotism. Arshad Warsi had once mentioned that the life and struggles of a starlet cannot be as rich as a self-made actor.

There are several like Arjun Kapoor who question the context of nepotism. The 'Ishaqzaade' actor asked as to why is nepotism always looked at as negative. But when it comes to Kangana and Karan's spat, the lady's silence has scored yet again over a noisy Johar. Furthering the hot topic, Johar said that nepotism is an easy access into the industry and nobody can deny it. He also spoke of how you use this access is what ultimately "moulds you into a professional".

So dear Karan, was this yet another faux pas? And despite that "easy access" how professional was it of you to denigrate another industry colleague? One who in spite of being a small town girl with a middle-class upbringing made it to the top. I rest my case
