‘Padma Vibhushit betrayed’: Saira Banu requests meeting with PM after builder who allegedly cheated them released from jail

Saira Banu has expressed unhappiness about ‘land mafia’ Samir Bhojwani’s release from jail and requested for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the matter.

The yesteryear actress tweeted via husband, legendary actor Dilip Kumar’s account on Sunday. Calling Samir Bhojwani ‘land mafia’, she wrote that Bhojwani has been released. Saira Banu added that no action was taken against him despite assurances by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Requesting a meeting with PM in Mumbai, her anger was evident as she said that the Padma Vibhushan awardee was ‘betrayed’ and ‘threatened by muscle and money power.’

Bhojwani, who is a builder, was arrested in April this year following Saira Banu’s police complaint against him for allegedly trying to grab Dilip Kumar’s bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police had lodged a case of cheating against him on suspicion of him allegedly forging documents to grab the property. Later, an EOW raid at his house in Bandra had led to seizure of weapons, which included knives and daggers.

The actress had expressed delight about the sub-registrar corroborating that the documents were forged in January.

Dilip Kumar recently celebrated his 96th birthday. Social media was filled with good wishes from Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, among others. He was hospitalised multiple times this year, but his health is now better and he is recovering at home.
