Actor Ranveer Singh, who made his acting debut with 'Band Baaja Baraat' in 2010 is at the peak of his career right now. After giving a stellar performance in 'Padmaavat' as Khilji, the actor now has two movies lined up for release- Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba' and Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy'.Recently, at an event in Mumbai, the 33-year-old actor spoke about his Bollywood journey and 'Simmba'.
Talking about his eight-year journey in the film industry the actor said that God has been kind. He said that the blessings and love of everyone have motivated him to do more work and better work. The 'Ladies Vs Ricky Behl' actor said that he tries to be the best actor he could ever be and keep entertaining the public. This he feels is the true calling in his life - to be an entertainer and spread the love.
Singh further said that he does what he loves and has collaborated with some of the finest filmmakers and some memorable films and experiences. He feels that he has not only evolved as a person but also has an actor. The actor did not gain much recognition for his work until 'Lootera' and 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela' in 2013. Talking about Ram Leela, he said that one can consider it to be his breakthrough film. Crediting his director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he said that he allowed him to showcase his potential and things have been different for him since then.
The 'Gunday' actor is now shooting for Rohit Shetty''s upcoming film 'Simmba' in which he will be seen playing a police officer. The film will also star debutante Sara Ali Khan (Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter). While talking about the film he said that it is his first bona fide 'in and as'. Talking about his director, he said that, he is not holding back this time, with the way he is mounting the film and everything that he is pumping into the film. Singh terms this film as his biggest outing and his trying to give his best performance. He is very excited about the film and hopes that people share his enthusiasm while watching the film.
The actor who has done films like 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat' said that 'Simmba' is his biggest film and it has been a mind, soul-enhancing experience. He further added that it is not easy performing in mainstream films as there is a comedy, drama, action, etc.
