After much uproar and increasing controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat will hit the screens on Thursday. Ahead of the release, Deepika Padukone, who plays the role of Rani Padmavati in the film highlighted that the film has spoken for itself, against all the odds that it faced since its inception. Deepika donned a pink silk saree, gold earrings, and a necklace.

While addressing the media on the sidelines of an event, Deepika said,

"I think there is a time for everything. The film has spoken for itself like you have seen the reactions to the film. It has been absolutely phenomenal. That is in a way the best response we can give, through the work that we do"

Speaking about the flow of emotions she went through a night before the release, the actress said, "I am extremely overwhelmed and emotional. This film has been through so much. On behalf of the entire film, I want to thank all of you for being so supportive of everything that we have done and everything that we have been through. Now it is time for us to celebrate and see the film do its wonders at the box-office."

While speaking about the Box Office number being anticipated, the 32-year-old actor said, "I am not someone who has ever been excited about the Box Office numbers. But I have to say, this time, I am; because I think it's going to be earth-shattering."

The film has been a center for controversy given that it revolves around Rani Padmavati and her sacrifice as she performed that act of jauhar. Rani Padmavati is considered as a very high figure in the history of Rajputs. The movie got caught up in the controversy since the day it was announced. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was assaulted as the fringe groups vandalised the set of the film. Later, the fringe threatened to cut off actress Deepika Padukone's nose. Amongst all this chaos, Sanjay Leela Bhansali clarified that there was nothing objectionable in the film and that he made the film as a tribute to Rani Padmavati. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's masterpiece is all set to release on January 25.
