Parineeti Chopra Says Nick Jonas Was 'Madly Generous' For His Joota-chupaayi Ceremony

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are now man and wife as they finally tied the knot in a royal wedding celebration at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on December 1 and 2. The international couple got hitched twice- once they exchanged vows in Christian wedding style on Saturday, and again they tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony on Sunday. The extravagant affair was a perfect blend of Indian and western cultures. Both Priyanka and Nick's family were present at the event and they took part actively in the celebrations to make it memorable for the pair.

Priyanka's cousin sister Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra who is known to be very close to her 'Mimi didi' kept the fans updated on the pre-wedding festivities. Abiding by the Hindu marriage ritual of hiding the groom's shoes, Parineeti hid Nick's footwear, and now in a social media post she revealed that he was 'generous' about the 'joota hiding money'. However, she clarified that Rs. 37 crore which was speculated to be the amount was not right. Although she did not reveal the exact amount she said he 'shocked' them.

In a Twitter post, the actress wrote, "To all those speculating the joota hiding money - you know nothing!! All I can say is - you’re wrong!!!!! Haha. Nick was MORE THAN CRAZY HUGELY MADLY GENEROUS! No words. Still reeling. Phew. He shocked us. Whatta playa!!! @nickjonas"

Previously, Parineeti who was seen performing in Priyanka and Nick's Sangeet ceremony shared the post reminiscing the journey of prepping for the evening. In an Instagram post, she accepted that the Jonas family gave a tough competition to the Chopras. She said that while the whole family of the actress rehearsed for days and recreated Priyanka and Nick's love story on stage in a complete 'Bollywood style', the singer's family set the stage on fire with live performance. Moreover, they also lipsynched Hindi songs. However, she said that the competition spree was overpowered with love and thus both the families shared the trophy.
