  • Boman Irani and Atul Kasbekar were among the several others who were left awed by the innocence of the children in taking the same pleasure that a mobile phone gives people worldwide while clicking a selfie.
  • Amid the attention over the picture, Amitabh Bachchan felt the snap was ‘photoshopped’, as the size of the hand holding the slipper differed in size to the rest of his body including his other hand, but netizens were divided over it

In the age of selfies all over, a different kind of ‘selfie’ involving kids using a slipper instead of a mobile phone is currently going viral on social media. Several celebrities have been sharing the picture on social media to talk about the message of being happy with what one has. Amid the attention over the picture, Amitabh Bachchan felt the snap was ‘photoshopped’, but netizens were divided over it.

Boman Irani and Atul Kasbekar were among the several others who were left awed by the innocence of the children in taking the same pleasure that a mobile phone gives people worldwide while clicking a selfie.

Sharing the snap on Instagram, the ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ actor shared a quote, “You’re only as happy as you choose to be” and how it was true for one and all. Boman felt the selfie deserves more likes than many other pictures.

Celebrity photographer-film producer Atul Kasbekar calling it a ‘super image that asks questions’ said the ‘unbridled innocence’ and ‘joy of these lovely kids’ moved him and made him smile in equal measure. He even went on to ask if someone could ‘reliably locate’ the kids and the picture, as he’d like to gift them something.

Atul later spoke about the ‘miracle of social media’ as he could locate the person, but then added it was ‘false alarm’ and hoped that ‘good intentions find a way.’

However, Amitabh Bachchan had an interesting observation, writing ‘with due respect and apology’ that he felt the snap was ‘photoshopped’ as the size of the hand holding the slipper differed in size to the rest of his body including his other hand.

While many of the netizens agreed with his viewpoint and called it a ‘good catch’, several disagreed and pointed out ‘distortion’ due to the picture being shot from a distance and ‘close angle’ and Twitter’s ‘compression’ being the reasons.

One wrote that it appeared so due to ‘lens distortion’ and added ‘uniform lighting and skin tones’ prove it was a genuine shot. Another felt the kids might have been asked to pose that way.

A Twitter user felt the debate was inconsequential as it is adorable irrespective of it being a mobile or a slipper.
