On Saturday morning, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel took to her Twitter handle to comment on the ongoing controversy over 'Mental Hai Kya' posters. For those unaware, the Indian Psychiatric Society filed an official complaint to Prasoon Joshi, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanding a change in the title of the Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Mental Hai Kya'. The committee wrote, "We take serious objections to the title of the movie which is discriminative, stigmatising, degrading, inhumane in projecting mental disorders and people who suffer from mental disorders."

Rangoli then said: "On behalf of Kangana all I want to say is that everyone will be proud of ‘Mental Hai Kya’ the topic and subject she has chosen will trigger relevant talk and discussions around the stigma".

But a few hours back, Deepika Padukone's NGO called 'The Live Laugh Love Foundation' that aims to reduce the stigma, spread awareness and change the way people look at Mental Health also reacted on the posters and wrote: "It is time we put an end to the use of words, imagery and/or the portrayal of persons with mental illness in a way that reinforces stereotypes. (1/2) Many millions who suffer with mental illness in India already face tremendous stigma. Therefore,it is extremely important to be responsible and sensitive towards the needs of those suffering. (2/2)" [sic]

To this, Kangana Ranaut's sister and spokesperson Rangoli reacted and compared the foundation to 'Karni Sena'. She requested them not to jump the gun and make assumptions. She wrote: "I have a feeling after MHK you will remove @deepikapadukone & get Kangana on board as your brand ambassador, her sincere effort to bring awareness to the cause and sensitive portrayal of the condition will leave such an impact on you... @TLLLFoundation (contd.).."

For those unaware, as the very title suggests the film revolves around the quirky characters of Kangana and Rajkummar Rao. According to the makers, the film celebrates the imperfections and the crazy within individuals and shouts out ‘Sanity is overrated’. The upcoming thriller film marks the second collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, as the pair previously shared the screen for Vikas Bahl's 'Queen'.
