After the Supreme Court left the decision on the Election Commission to take a call over 'PM Narendra Modi' biopic film, the EC announced the ban on the release mentioning the complaints against biopics such as 'PM Narendra Modi', 'NTR Laxmi' and 'Udyama Simham' which subserves any political party or individual connected to it and intends to or has the potential to disturb the level playing field during the elections should not be displayed through electronic media including cinematograph during the operation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Reacting on the same, producer of 'PM Narendra Modi' biopic Sandeep Ssingh told a daily tabloid that his team and he were with the lawyers till 10 PM when the news of the EC reached them. He said that he had a premiere planned at PVR Juhu and had also sent 1500 invites to the guests along with the media screenings, which they had to cancel eventually.

He goes to further state that he started incurring losses the day his release was pushed from April 5 to April 11. But he eventually decided to follow the law, like he always has but was surprised to see that no other film has been pushed twice like that. He said that they had won cases in Bombay, Delhi and MP High courts, and also won the case in the Supreme Court but the EC notice a day before the release was a shock. He said he and his entire team is only trying to understand why they are in this situation and only want the film to release because a lot of money has been invested in it.

When asked if the film was meant to a propaganda movie for BJP and Modi, Sandip Ssingh told the tabloid that nobody questions any of the Khans when they announce their dates for all the festivals. So, for him the election came only once in 5 years and thought April 5 was an apt date for better box-office collections. He further clarified that the film was not a part of BJP's election campaign and if that was the case, 'every party would be making films and not doing rallies'.

He said that 'senior leaders should be confident of the work they have done' because that influences the voters and 'not a film'. He posed a question, 'Why are they scared of a two-hour film?'.

Sandeep Ssingh also spoke how nobody is talking about Lalu Prasand Yadav's autobiography when everyone knows his party (Rashtriya Janta Dal)'s alliance with the Congress.

Ssingh says that he along with Vivek Oberoi and Omung Kumar are a part of this industry since last 20 years but still no one has come forward to support them. He says where is the 'one big happy family' people keep talking about?

In a concluding tone, Sandeep Ssingh said that shooting the 38-day schedule was smooth but the last 20 days have been a 'nightmare' for him with all the controversies from strong opposition like DMK,NCP, Mamata Banerjee, Omar Abdullah, Prashant Bhushan — all wanting to ban the film.
