'Political yet interesting' says Rishi Kapoor as he praises the trailer of Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister'

Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor who is known to be a very close friend of Anupam Kher responded to the trailer and praised Kher for his performance in the film.

The trailer of the much-anticipated political drama 'The Accidental Prime Minister' released on Thursday, December 27. The political drama is based on the life of the former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and traces his journey throughout the time he was in power. The release of the trailer has given a stir to a huge controversy  as the film is based on a book of the same name by Sanjay Baru, a former media advisor to Manmohan Singh, who alleges that Dr. Singh was never fully in control of his cabinet and a significant amount of power was wielded by then Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

However, following the trailer release, Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor who is known to be a very close friend of Kher, responded to the trailer and praised Kher for his performance in the film. He took to Twitter and said, "What a wonderful trailer of a film promising to be political yet interesting. @AnupamPKher your passion for your craft is what I hope you teach at your film school. And how smashing does our Akshay Khanna look! Congratulations beforehand!"

Ever since the first poster of the film released, Anupam Kher's striking resemblance to Manmohan Singh has become a talking point. The distinct resemblance of the actor to Manmohan Singh has grabbed several eyeballs. Earlier a few snippets and videos of Anupam Kher were doing the rounds, where his mannerisms and postures were also seen to be exactly like the former PM and fans were much impressed by his perfection. 

Besides, Anupam Kher, the film also stars Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi. The movie is helmed by debutant director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and is scheduled to release on January 11, 2019.
