Bollywood has been in a state of shock ever since actress Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment in 2008 on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Please’. A decade after the incident, at a recent media interaction, the ‘Aashiq Banaya Apne’ actress alleged that Nana Patekar harassed her while filming a track for ‘Horn Ok Please’ and later arranged a mob attack on the actress.

As several are referring to her speaking out against Patekar as Bollywood’s very own ‘Me Too’ movement, others have kept mum on the matter. Bollywood celebrities including, Raveena Tandon, Sonam Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Siddharth, Swara Bhasker, Shilpa Shetty, Kalki Koechlin, Parineeti Chopra, Twinkle Khanna, Hansal Mehta and others have extended their support to the actress.

The latest addition to the list being Pooja Bhatt. While speaking at the Jagran Film Festival the ‘Sadak’ actress came out in support of Miss India (2004) and reportedly said,

“Whenever someone complains about it, you shouldn’t count it out. I don’t think we should silence those voices”.

Speaking further on the matter, she said,

“I find it a very frivolous conversation whether 'Bollywood stands with you or not'. Truth doesn’t need a PR. If you believe it, go out there and speak it. Do not expect anyone to hold your hands and support you. Bollywood is a great place. You can expect support for award ceremonies, weddings and funerals”.

In her most recent statement, Tanushree Dutta said,

"My throat is swollen, voice down and I'm unwell because of the exhaustion of the last few days. For the last 8 years that I've been on the spiritual path regardless of which part of the world I am, I mostly prefer to live in solitude, silence, prayer and meditation and have gotten used to that peaceful lifestyle. I only come out and interact socially and even speak only when the need is for work or other social commitments"

The latest development in the Tanushree Dutta controversy took place on Monday when Nana Patekar’s lawyer sent a legal notice to the actress. Demanding a public and media apology for her apparent false allegations against the actor.
