Prem Chopra backs total ban on Pakistan, says 'those Industry-members not opposing won't, but we must be clear'

Veteran actor Prem Chopra in an exclusive interview with Republic TV opened up about the ban levied by Pakistan on Indian film CDs

Veteran actor Prem Chopra in an exclusive interview with Republic TV opened up about the ban levied by Pakistan on Indian film CDs and said, "Complete and total ban on Pak now. We have been tolerant for a long but now it's high time. In the industry, whoever is not opposing, they will not oppose, but we have to be clear now". He also went on to demand that the Davis Cup match played between India and Pakistan should be banned."

Prior to this,  Indian actor Raza Murad in an exclusive conversation with Republic TV stated that the decision taken by the Pak government is their loss and not India's, as the country was earning in crores from the revenue of the entertainment industry. "Ultimately, it is their loss. It is the public of Pakistan that is crazy after our films and they will watch it legally or illegally. It is a very tiny territory for us and it will not make even 0.5% difference to us". 

PAKISTAN BANS ADVERTISEMENTS: 

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) banned the airing of advertisements featuring Indian artists and India-made products.  "We have banned Indian advertisements and launched a crackdown on CD shops to confiscate Indian movies," Dawn newspaper quoted Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information, as saying. 

She said the Interior Ministry had already started a crackdown on Indian movies in the federal capital and it would be expanded to other parts of the country soon in collaboration with the provincial governments. "Today the interior ministry raided some compact disc shops in Islamabad and confiscated Indian movies."

Notably, Pakistan's desperate crackdown on Indian films comes even as terrorists are allowed to roam freely on its soil despite a purported crackdown.
