Priyanka Chopra Becomes The First Celebrity To Wear A Ralph Lauren Wedding Dress; Here’s How Designer's Close Ones Donned The Bridal Look Before

It’s official! Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are now man and wife. The popular multi-talented artistes tied the knot in a Christian ceremony in Jodhpur on Saturday, 1 December.

Peecee’s wedding outfit for the occasion was designed by Ralph Lauren. The internationally well-known designer, however, broke a tradition to come on board as the creator of Priyanka’s bridal attire. It is the first time he has created a bridal outfit for a celebrity, previously doing so only for people related to him. Only his daughter, daughter-in-law and niece have got the privilege of wearing Ralph Lauren outfits for their weddings. 

Ralph Lauren’s daughter Dylan Lauren had got married in June, 2011 to Paul Arrouet. And her father’s dress for her big day was a handmade off-shoulder satin, tulle, silk embroidered outfit with a tiered train. Ralph Lauren had even walked Dylan down the aisle. He had got emotional about the wedding, revealing in an interview how he wanted to give Dylan something that’s amazing and one that she’d treasure.

The next woman to also wear Ralph Lauren creation for her wedding was his daughter-in-law Lauren Bush. Bush had got married to Ralph Lauren’s youngest son David Lauren the same year in September. For his daughter-in-law, Lauren designed a long-sleeved embellished outfit decorated with tulle and crystals and a long veil to go with it.

Till the time the official pictures come out, we can be sure Priyanka's bridal look would've somewhat resembled the above two brides' attires.     

Ralph Lauren confirmed the wedding news on Instagram, sharing that he was ‘honoured’ to have dressed the couple, Priyanka in a custom gown and Nick in a Purble Label tuxedo. The designer had a part to play in their love story as they had made their first public appearance wearing his creations on his invite at the Met Gala in 2017. The handle also shared pictures from the designer’s 50th anniversary celebrations in New York in September this year where Priyanka and Nick just looked too adorable in each other’s company.

Priyanka and Nick are scheduled to get married according to Hindu customs on Sunday, December 2. The newlyweds will reportedly host a reception in Mumbai and Delhi after they return from Jodhpur.
