Rajkumar Hirani Saw Nawazuddin Siddiqui As A Good Actor During 'Munna Bhai MBBS', But Couldn't Foresee His Stardom

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's acting skills have been applauded not only in the country but across the globe. Many also know of the humble beginning to his star-studded career trail. Not too long ago in an interview to a news agency 'Sanju' director Rajkumar Hirani, who had offered Nawazuddin a tiny part to play in 'Munna Bhai MBBS' spoke about the actor and his success in the world of cinema. The star was seen playing a role of a pickpocket in the Sanjay Dutt starrer, not a lead, but a noticeable bit for sure!

And now, 'Mom', 'Manjhi', 'Lunchbox' are a few from the actor's filmography that have left the audience in awe of his performance, that's not it he's only adding names to the list. Every release of his increases his fandom, and he is currently one of the big names in the film industry.

But Hirani said otherwise while talking about him, he said that back then when he cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the role in the Sanjay Dutt and Gracy Singh starrer, he didn't imagine for him to be such a huge star. Hirani reportedly remembers telling Nawazuddin that he acted really well, but his present-day stardom is not something that the filmmaker had gauged. 

In order to get to where he is today in terms of fame and recognition, Nawazuddin has taken tiny steps and on the way has also done small roles. But these are roles that people had appreciated even back then. For instance, the actor played the cops' source in 'Talaash', a role for which he shared screen space with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. He was also seen in 'Kahaani', a film in which Vidya Balan was portraying the role of Durga, the protagonist.
