Rakul Preet Singh shares why her character in 'Marjaavaan' stands apart

Rakul Preet Singh, who played the character of a bar dancer in the recently released 'Marjaavaan' directed by Milap Zaveri, talks about her character Aarzoo.

Actor Rakul Preet Singh, who has worked predominately in the South Indian film industry, is stealing the hearts of the audience and fans with her back-to-back successful runs at the box office. Her performance in the recently released romance-action drama Marjaavaan has gained a positive response from the movie buffs. In the movie, she plays the role of a bar dancer named Aarzoo who fallls in love with the lead character Raghu played by Sidharth Malhotra. In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, the actor gave insights into her character and she also talked about why she gave a nod to the project starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria.

Calling her character "a special role", she said that the director offered her the film during the shooting of Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer rom-com De De Pyaar De. In the interview, she said that though many of her well-wishers asked her not to give green lights to the project before the release of De De Pyaar De; however, she found the role different and was prompt in accepting the offer. She also said that according to her, Aarzoo was one of the most focused characters of the film. Since her debut in the Kannada movie Gilli (2009), she has appeared in around thirty films in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi cinema.
