Ram Kapoor joins cast of Mira Nair's next movie A Suitable Boy

Ram Kapoor recently took on his Instagram handle to announce his next upcoming project. While the movie starring Ram Kapoor, Bahut Hua Sammaan is set to release in December 2019. Ram Kapoor has joined the cast of another upcoming film, A suitable Boy. The movie is being directed and filmed by Mira Nair. It has been written by Andrew Davies. The movie will be shot at several locations and is currently being shot in the city of Lucknow.

A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth

A Suitable Boy is an adaptation of Vikram Seth’s international bestseller with the same title. It is a story of a young girl who embarks at a journey of her own to discover herself. The novel was set in 1951, a time when India was taking shape as a newly independent nation and dealing with the crisis of its own. In the novel, the story very beautifully beads love, romance, ambitions, prejudice and self-discovery.

Cast

The cast of this movie has big names, including Tabu, Ishaan Khattar, Rasika Dugal, Namit Das who have been joined by Ram Kapoor, Shahana Goswami and Vivek Gomber are the new members to join the cast of the movie. Ram Kapoor began his acting career with a television series Nyaay in 1997 and has been the lead cast for series like Ghar Ek Mandir, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and many more. Ram Kapoor has previously worked in movies like Student of The Year, Baar Baar Dekho, Mere Dad Ki Maruti and many more.

What Ram had to say about this Project

In an interview with a leading media portal, Ram Kapoor while talking about this project said that he is excited to work with director Mira Nair. He also said that he has worked with her in the past also on movies called Monsoon Wedding and Words with Gods, both the movies were masterpieces. Ram is playing the character of the protagonist's father and wants to do justice to the character.
