With more than a month before its release, 'Gully Boy' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is already turning out to be one of the most anticipated films this year. The trailer which was released on January 9 went viral in no time, and everyone could not stop praising the two leads who stole the show in it.

However, according to reports, when the director of the film, Zoya Akhtar was finalising the cast of the film, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor had reportedly shown interest in the film. However, when he was offered to play the underliner to Ranveer, Kapoor decided to take a step back.

Interestingly 'Gully Boy' features Ranbir Kapoor's ladylove Alia Bhatt in the star cast, and if the 'Sanju' actor played the lead in the film, it would have been the couple's first film together.

The two will be seen in 'Brahmastra' next. It is a fantasy film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. 'Brahmastra' will star Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Dimple Kapadia, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in lead roles.
