Ranveer Singh was spotted hanging out with former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Ranveer Singh is currently gearing for his upcoming film '83' which is based on India’s historic world cup win in 1983 and the cricket team's victory over West Indies to bring home India's first cup. Ranveer will reportedly play the character of Kapil Dev and the veteran cricketer has agreed to coach the 'Padmaavat' actor. In fact, lately, the actor has been spotted spending time with quite a few cricketers. Earlier Ranveer's picture with master blaster Sachin Tendulkar went viral and now the 'Bajirao Mastani' actor has posted a selfie with former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Ranveer never shies away from admitting his fondness for other celebrities and this time around, the 'Dil Dhadakne Do' actor took to Instagram and shared a selfie with MS Dhoni. Ranveer captioned the picture as, "Good Times with Mahi Bhai @mahi7781 ? #Lionheart #MSD#TheGreatest".

In the picture, both Dhoni and Ranveer can be seen smiling ear to ear and Ranveer has his hand around Dhoni’s shoulder as the duo strike a pose for the selfie. Ranveer can be seen sporting a moustache and large gold-rimmed glasses. The duo seemed to have enjoyed each other's company.

What's next for Ranveer Singh

Meanwhile, '83', a sports drama will be directed by Kabir Khan who has previously directed films like 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'Sultan', and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', to name a few. The film is slated to release on April 10, 2020. '83' will apparently go on floors in December 2018. Apart from this, Ranveer is shooting for Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba' which is a remake of the 2015 Telugu film titled 'Temper'. The film is backed by Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar, and also features Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. 'Simmba' will hit the big screens on December 28. The 'Befikre' actor has also wrapped up the shoot for Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' starring Alia Bhatt which is slated to release in 2018.

Ranveer will also be apart of Karan Johar's 'Takht'. The director had made an official announcement of his next directorial venture which is set in the Mughal era. The film features an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor and is slated hit the theatres in 2019.
