As per reports, Rohit Shetty confirmed the news saying that the films will now release a week apart to avoid the box office collections from getting affected. Rohit Shetty said that one week was enough and that there was no competition between his film 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan and 'Zero' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, as reported. Reportedly, Shetty also said that earlier they were planning to release the film on the same day as the Aanand L Rai directorial, but then decided to defer the release date of 'Simmba' to avert the clash at the box office which would have affected the box office collections. Shetty said that the decision of averting the clash was a mutual decision.

Rohit made the official announcement of deferring the release of his upcoming film at a cinema summit where he spoke about understanding the pulse of the audience for commercial cinema. Rohit has aced the concept of commercial cinema with films like 'Singham', 'Chennai Express' and the 'Golmaal' franchise. 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan is a remake of Telugu film 'Temper' that starred NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. Recently, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood joined the cast of the film and pictures of his bromance with Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh had gone viral on the internet. Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the role of a police officer in the Rohit Shetty directorial.
