As per media reports, PIL filed against Kedarnath had also asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to review the film on grounds that 'it hurts religious sentiments and promotes love-jihad'.

The plea had also stated that shooting a love scene at Kedarnath, an important pilgrimage site for Hindus, hurts their religious sentiments. The petitioners demanded that the release of the film should be kept on hold until CBFC clears it again.
