Amidst the catastrophic Kerala floods, which has claimed the lives of over 300 residents several have offered help to victims. From raising funds to helping those stranded across the state, the nation has come to together to save Kerala. Malayalam actor and model Rajeev Pillai who was reportedly all set to get married earlier this week decided to postpone his wedding date to help rescue flood victims in Kerala. Rajeev Pillai will next be seen in the Indrajit Lankesh’s directorial titled, ‘Shakeela’ alongside Bollywood actress Richa Chadha. On Monday, the ‘Fukrey’ actress took to Instagram, where she has over 900k followers, to share a post hailing Pillai’s efforts in Kerala.
With pictures of Rajeev Pillai in hip-deep water, holding onto a raft, she wrote, “My friend and costar in #Shakeela , @rajeev_govinda_pillaipostponed his wedding, which was to happen three days ago, in order to help out in rescue efforts in his hometown of Nannoor , Kerala. They made rafts, carried boats by road to the low lying areas, made good use of all the muscle. Bravo!”
In addition to Richa, the ‘Thalaiva’ actor too shared a picture helping out locals in locals on his official Instagram handle. He captioned the post, “And that behind me is the main road,next to the house...mode of transportation has changed though”.

Both Richa and Rajeev are all set for the upcoming based on the life of popular South star ‘Shakeela’. Th film that has reportedly begun shooting in Tirthahalli, a small town in Karnataka is a biopic on south star Shakila who worked in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil language films for over two decades.
