Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor who is now cancer free has been undergoing treatment in the United States for almost a year.

Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor who is now cancer free after undergoing treatment in the United States for almost a year has revealed that he is yet to undergo a bone marrow transplant and that he won't be able to return to India for another two months. In a recent interview, he opened up about his year-long battle with the disease and said that his wife Neetu has stood by him 'like a rock' and his kids, Ranbir Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni have really 'shouldered his problems'.

He further added that the entire experience has taught him patience and that he is eternally grateful for the 'gift of life'. 

Prior to this, his brother Randhir Kapoor had announced that actor Rishi Kapoor was now finally cancer-free. "He is undergoing treatment, he is much better. He is almost cancer free. He will take some time to come back as he has to finish his course. He will be here in the next couple of months. Very soon," Randhir told PTI.

Rishi Kapoor has been undergoing treatment in New York since September 2018 and even skipped the funeral of his mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor in October. The actor, who is a regular presence on Twitter, stayed in touch with his fans throughout his treatment and recovery.

Various Bollywood celebrities have also stayed in touch with him and often go visit when they are in the country.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor was last seen in 'Mulk' alongside Taapsee Pannu. It is an Anubhav Sinha directorial and is produced by Deepak Mukut. 'Mulk' clashed with 'Fanney Khan' and 'Karwaan' and performed decently at the box office.
