Rishi Kapoor thanks God for this day, gives five reasons why

Rishi Kapoor recalled the significance of September 28, which is special to him for five reasons, including the birthdays of Ranbir Kapoor and his sister.

September 28 is a special day for Rishi Kapoor. While son Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday was all over the news on Saturday, that’s not all for the veteran actor, as there were four more reasons for him to be ecstatic. The birthdays of Bhagat Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, his sister Rima Jain and the release of ‘Bobby’ were all significant for him, Rishi Kapoor shared.

While Ranbir Kapoor enjoys a massive fan following in the country, there were tributes galore for Bhagat Singh and Lata Mangeshkar, on their birthdays as well. From politicians to other celebrities, Bhagat Singh, one of the renowned freedom fighters of the country and the legendary singer got numerous posts of praise, taking them to the top of the Twitter trends throughout the day. The showering of love only proved that they enjoy a cult following in the country even today.

The only important person, whose birthday also falls on this day is Rishi Kapoor’s sister Rima Jain. She is also the mother of Armaan and Aadar Jain who have made their debuts in Bollywood in the last few years.  

Incidentally, even Rishi Kapoor’s first hit, ‘Bobby’ had released, 46 years ago on the same date that eventually went on to become his son’s birthdate as well. The movie, also starring Dimple Kapadia, was Rishi Kapoor’s first film as a lead actor, and the movie, directed by his father Raj Kapoor, was a massive success that gave Rishi Kapoor instant stardom. 

In a tweet, Kapoor wrote, “Significance of 28th September for me. Birthdays of Bhagat Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, Rima Jain and Ranbir Kapoor. Release of Bobby 28/9/73 Worldwide. God,thank you for this day!”

He, however, had a special message for the ‘Nightingale’ Lata Mangeshkar, “Wish you a very Happy Birthday-our best wishes from the family to you dearest @mangeshkarlata ji. Utmost respect,love and regards!” Rishi Kapoor wrote alongside a snap of him, actor-wife Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. 

Back to the bay

Meanwhile, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor recently returned from the USA where the former was undergoing treatment for cancer. The couple was also spotted while arriving at Ranbir Kapoor’s house for his birthday celebrations on Saturday.
