Union Minister Smriti Irani and TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor go back a long way. The duo has known each other for more than 18 years and share quite a special bond. With Ekta Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', Irani had become a household name as Tulsi.

Kapoor turned 44 today and on this occasion, the Union Minister penned a sweet note for her soul sister. "You brighten our lives with your smile, you strengthen our resolve with your support no matter what battles lie ahead, your belief that time will heal all wounds and do justice helped me sail through many turbulent phases", read an excerpt from her post. 

Prior to this, in order to celebrate BJP's resounding victory in Lok Sabha Elections 2019, both Ekta Kapoor and Union Minister Smriti Irani walked 14 km to Siddhi Vinayak. BJP's Smriti Irani defeated the Congress chief and sitting MP Rahul Gandhi by a margin of 55,120 votes in Amethi.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani Monday has taken charge as the Union Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister and vowed to fulfill her commitment towards empowering women and creating a better tomorrow for children. She was welcomed by senior officials of the ministry and Minister of State in the WCD Ministry Debashree Chaudhuri.
