'Saaho' Defies Poor Reviews, Mints Over Rs.24 Crore On Opening Day

Despite divided reviews, Prabhas & Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Saaho' makes a promising start at the box office, collects over Rs. 24 crores on opening day.

Prabhas & Shraddha Kapoor's much-anticipated venture 'Saaho' has hit the theaters on Friday, August 30. 'Saaho' which has been pegged as the 'biggest action thriller of all times' is packed with breathtaking sequences, yet it disappointed fans big time owing to its weak and confusing storyline and inexplicably poor direction. However, despite divided reviews, 'Saaho' has made an impressive start at the box office.

Trade analyst & film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Saturday, August 31, and announced the opening day collection of 'Saaho'. He revealed that the film has grossed Rs. 24.40 crores in Hindi version on day 1. Adarsh said that the numbers are because of Prabhas's superstardom post his appearance in the 'Bahubali' franchise and the hype surrounding the biggie.

Adarsh further revealed that the excellent advance bookings for 'Saaho' has been one of the key factors ensured fantastic numbers. He also suggested that the film's collection over the coming weekend will define its fate.

Taran Adarsh reviews 'Saaho'

Taran Adarsh reviewed 'Saaho' as it released on Friday. The film critic described the Prabhas & Shraddha Kapoor starrer as 'unbearable' and rated it one and a half star. Further dishing out details, he claimed that the film lacked is a 'colossal waste of talent, big money, and opportunity'. He further went on to say that the screenplay was quite confusing with the direction being 'amateur'.

About the film 

'Saaho' is an action-entertainment which features Prabhas as an outlaw and Shraddha Kapoor as a police officer. Besides the lead pair, the film stars Jackie Shroff, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Panday, Arun Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Lal, Evelyn Sharma, among others.
