Salman Khan trolled after his belated tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

As the nation continues to mourn the loss of one of its most beloved politicians, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, tributes continue to pour in for the former Indian Prime Minister. Salman Khan has joined the bandwagon of Bollywood celebrities who have taken to Twitter to pay homage to Vajpayee. Salman tweeted, "Truly a sad feeing to have lost a great leader, noble politician, orator and an exceptional human being like Atal ji."

Unfortunately, however, netizens were quick to pick on the fact that Salman's tribute came in almost 5 days after Vajpayee's sad demise. The actor's tweet soon became the subject of trolls on social media.





Bollywood stars had earlier taken to Twitter to pay heartfelt tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Priyanka Chopra had tweeted, "Former Prime Minister Shri #AtalBihariVajpayee's visionary ideas and contributions for India were truly remarkable. The nation will always remember... #RIP My thoughts and condolences to the family."

Superstar Rajinikanth said, "I’m saddened to hear the demise of a great statesman Shri.Vajpayee ji. May his soul Rest In Peace." Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to pay a heartfelt tribute to Vajpayee saying, "For The Poet Prime Minister of our country, love you Baapji." Shah Rukh said, "My father use to take me to every speech that Mr. Vajpayee made in Delhi when I was growing up. Years on I had the opportunity to meet him and spend lots of time discussing poetry, films, politics and our ailing knees. I consider myself the luckiest to have had his influence on my life during my formative years.", he concluded. Shah Rukh Khan, in his post also shared a poem by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Other celebrities like SS Rajamouli, Rana Daggubati, Farhan Akhtar, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, among others took to Twitter to pay a tribute to the former Indian Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman Khan is currently shooting for his next 'Bharat' in Malta. The actor's mother Salma Khan has accompanied the actor and Salman took to Instagram to share a video of him helping his mother climb a fleet of stairs. He captioned the video saying, "Yeh bandhan toh .. pyaar ka bandhan hai #Bharat."
