Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' fails to impress Chinese audience

Salman Khan's charm has proved to draw millions to the cinema across India. But same is not the case with the Chinese audience, no matter how much Salman wrestles it out. Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' might have gone on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 2016, but the two years later when the film finally released in China, it failed to impress the audiences there. Sultan that released in China over the weekend, saw a minimal collection at the box office in its two days of release by collecting Rs.14.38 crores in two days. According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, 'Sultan's struggle at box office continues. Taran Adarsh on Sunday tweeted: #Sultan continues to struggle... Witnesses limited growth on Day 2 in China, but with a low starting point, the growth should’ve been threefold or thereabouts... Let’s see what Day 3 [Sun] has in store...

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer 'Sultan' that grossed over Rs.300 crores are among the few films which are coveted in 300 crore club. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Sultan' tells the story who gives up on the sport after the untimely demise of his son. To win the love of his life back, he makes a comeback to wrestling and with his sheer hard work proves his mettle on the ground. Both Salman and Anushka who starred together for the first time played wrestlers in the film.   

Talking about Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar association, the actor-director duo has collaborated twice, first on 'Sultan' (2016) and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017), both of them went on to become blockbuster hits. 

Both Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar are once again coming together with 'Bharat' that will bring back 'Tiger Zinda Hai' pair Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The second schedule of the film in 'Malta' was recently wrapped up. 'Bharat' also stars Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles and the film is aiming to release on Eid 2019.
