Sanjay Dutt started his career in 1981 with his debut movie, Rocky, also directed by his father. However, the movie did not perform as good as expected on the box office. Sanjay Dutt's career

Sanjay Dutt has made his appearance in almost 187 movies till now. Sanjay Dutt’s made his Bollywood debut through Rocky but his breakthrough came in the role of a villain in Subhash Ghai’s Khalnayak, released in 1993. Steadily building his acting career, Sanjay’s maturity and versatility were displayed through his roles in action, comedy and romantic films, earning him rave reviews. Despite the troubled times Sanjay went in and out of, he always made the box-office jingle with stunning hits likeVidhaata (1982), Naam (1986), Sadak (1991), Saajan (1991), Vaastav (1999), Mission Kashmir (2000), Kaante (2002), Munnabhai M.B.B.S. The final breakthrough

Dutt’s initial breakthrough was reportedly obstructed by drink, drugs and womanising. Sanjay was later found guilty of being a part of the bomb blasts in Mumbai. The case went back and forth until he was finally sentenced on July 31, 2007. On March 16, 2013, Sanjay Dutt finally surrendered before the Supreme Court and he was convicted for five years. However, after completing just three years, he was released in 2016 on the grounds of good conduct. Later, he worked in movies like Bhoomi, Kalank, and Prassthanam. Sanjay Dutt’s last release was Prassthanam, where he was seen as a politician.
