'Sanju' wins big at Australian International Movie Convention

Rajkumar Hirani's directorial Sanju, which is a biopic on Indian actor Sanjay Dutt, has been creating a lot of buzz ever since the film released. The film, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Hindi-language films last year, has now attained yet another remarkable feat. As per media reports, Sanju has won the Highest Grossing Foreign Language Film Award at the Australian International Movie Convention.

Film critic and movie analyst Taran Adarsh made the announcement on Tuesday, October 22. In a recent Twitter post, he spoke about Sanju's marvelous achievement of becoming the Highest Grossing Foreign Language Film and revealed that the film competed with other foreign-language films from a number of countries including China and France to bag the prestigious award.

Australian International Movie Convention

Hosted annually by the National Association of Cinema Operators-Australasia (NACO), the AIMC is the only Australian film industry event to provide opportunities to network with local and international professionals in fields such as cinema exhibition, distribution, and production.

About Sanju

Sanju is a biographical drama that gives an insight into the controversial life of actor Sanjay Dutt aka Sanju Baba. Be it his girlfriends, his drug addiction, his career, his conviction, downfall, his sentence, his acquittal and then his uprising once again, the movie captures it all featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. While Ranbir Kapoor takes up the lead role, actor Vicky Kaushal, who is also a part of the movie can be seen essaying the role of his best friend Kamli. Sanju which released on June 29 last year, is Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest commercial hit till date.
